Marriage and Couples Therapy in Hollywood, Florida
You care about each other, but something between you no longer feels the same
You still love your partner, but the relationship no longer feels as alive or connected as it once did. Over time, a distance has developed between you. Conversations may feel more practical than personal, affection or intimacy may have faded, and expressing what you need can feel increasingly difficult. Couples therapy in Hollywood, Fl can offer a space to begin understanding what has come between you.
You may miss the ease you once shared and feel lonely, frustrated, or stuck in a rut—wondering how to find your way back to one another.
Does this feel familiar?
You each feel alone in the same relationship.
Both of you want to feel understood, yet neither of you feels truly heard.
You want to reconnect but cannot find your way back.
The care is still there, but attempts to repair things often lead to more frustration or withdrawal.
Old hurts enter new conversations.
A small disagreement can quickly carry the weight of disappointments that were never fully resolved.
You protect yourselves in different ways.
One of you reaches for reassurance while the other needs distance, leaving both feeling rejected.
In Our Work Together
Couples therapy offers a space to slow down the cycle between you and understand what is happening beneath the arguments, distance, or withdrawal. Together, we explore what each of you is trying to communicate, even when it comes out as anger, criticism, defensiveness, or silence, and the deeper feelings and needs that can be difficult to put into words.
As you begin to understand one another more fully, old patterns can loosen. You can express what matters in ways your partner can hear, respond with greater openness, repair past hurts, and begin building a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and alive.
I know you’re tired of feeling…
…like every attempt to talk brings you back to the same painful place. You may carefully choose your words, hoping this conversation will be different, only to end up feeling misunderstood, blamed, or shut out. Eventually, it can feel safer to avoid certain subjects altogether, even as the distance between you continues to grow.
You’re tired of wondering why it has become so difficult to reach the person who once felt closest to you. You may miss the warmth, affection, or sense of being a team that your relationship once held. Part of you may still believe that connection is possible, while another part feels discouraged by how hard you have both tried without creating lasting change.
Couples Therapy in Hollywood, FL Can Help You Reconnect
Imagine being able to talk about what matters without every conversation turning into the same argument—or ending in silence. Instead of assuming the worst about each other, you can begin to recognize the feelings, fears, and needs beneath your partner’s reactions.
Couples therapy can help you communicate more honestly, repair hurts that have created distance, and respond to one another with greater understanding. The goal is not to eliminate every disagreement, but to create a relationship in which conflict no longer threatens your sense of connection.
Over time, you can begin to feel more like partners again: more able to express affection, share responsibility, navigate difficult moments, and make decisions together. Whether you are trying to restore closeness, rebuild trust, or understand what your relationship needs next, therapy can help you move forward with greater clarity and care.
MEET YOUR COUPLES THERAPIST IN HOLLYWOOD, FL
I’m Tamar Levine, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who helps couples understand the deeper emotional patterns shaping their relationship. When couples feel stuck, the problem is often not a lack of love or effort. Each partner may be trying to protect themselves, feel understood, or communicate something important—but the message gets lost in anger, criticism, defensiveness, or withdrawal.
My role is not to decide who is right or take sides. I help each of you slow down, put words to what is happening beneath the conflict, and understand how your experiences and sensitivities influence the way you relate to one another. Together, we work toward conversations in which both partners can feel heard and difficult emotions can be expressed more openly.
My approach is relational and insight-oriented. We will pay attention not only to what you argue about, but also to what those moments mean to each of you. This deeper understanding can help you interrupt familiar patterns, repair emotional distance, and create a relationship that feels more connected, honest, and secure.

Your Questions About Couples Therapy, in Hollywood, Fl Answered
-
Couples therapy can help you understand the patterns that keep creating conflict, distance, or disconnection between you. I help each partner put words to what is happening beneath their reactions so that you can hear one another differently, repair unresolved hurts, and develop a more honest and connected way of relating.
-
My role is not to determine who is right or wrong. I listen carefully to both partners and work to understand what each person is experiencing and trying to communicate. At times, I may gently challenge either of you or draw attention to something happening between you, but the purpose is always to support the relationship and help both partners feel understood.
-
It is common for one partner to feel more hopeful about therapy while the other feels hesitant, discouraged, or uncertain. You do not both need to begin with the same level of confidence, but each partner does need to be willing to participate honestly and consider their own role in the relationship’s patterns.
-
The first session gives me an opportunity to learn what has brought you to therapy, how each of you understands the difficulty, and what you hope might change. I will also begin learning about your relationship history and the experiences each of you brings into the relationship. You do not need to arrive with everything organized or know exactly where to begin.
-
Yes. Some couples enter therapy hoping to repair their relationship, while others feel uncertain about whether they want to remain together. I provide a space where you can understand what has happened between you and explore your feelings more clearly. I will not make the decision for you, but I can help you approach it with greater honesty, thoughtfulness, and understanding.
-
There is no single timeline because every relationship is different. The length of therapy depends on the concerns bringing you in, how long the patterns have been present, and what you hope to accomplish. We will continue talking together about how the work is progressing and what your relationship needs.
-
My fee is $300 per session. I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network mental-health benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
